Example Structural Shapes Menu:

 


Example Calculated rectangular structural shape 2 inch by 6 inch:
1. Click on Structural Shapes.
2. Select Calk Shape.
3. Click on Rectangular.
4. Check on 2 numerical pad.
5. Click on A transfer key.
6. Click on 6 numerical pad.
7. Click on B. transfer key.
8. Click on calculator screen.
The following will appear in the calculation readout window.
Calculate 2 in. by 6 in. Square or Rectangular
Y - Y Rotated 90 Deg. Neutral Axes Dim C = 1 in.
Area of Section = 12 in.^2
Moment of Inertia = 4 in.^4
Section Modulus. = 4 in.^3
Radius of Gyration. = 0.577350269189626 in.
X - X as Shown Neutral Axes Dim C = 3 in.
Moment of Inertia = 36 in.^4
Section Modulus = 12 in.^3
Radius of Gyration. = 1.73205080756888 in.

Example Storing the previous calculated rectangular:
Structural shape 2 inch by 6 inch.
1. Click on Structural Shapes.
2. Click on Save Current Shape.
This will bring up Current Shape Input Box.
3. Input the name of the structural shape.
Rectangular Solid 2 inch by 6 inch
Note: The current shape name will be listed in the
window. This is the default name of the
shape. Using this name is not required you
may assign a name of your choice. 
4. Click on OK

Example Calculate existing rectangular structural shape 2 inch by 6 inch:
1. Click on Structural Shapes.
2. Select Existing Shades.
3. Click on Rectangular
4. Click on down arrow in selection window.
5. Click on Rectangular Shape 2 inch by 6 inch.
6. Click on Structural Shapes.
7. Click on Calculate Existing.
The following will appear in the calculation readout window.
Calculate 2 in. by 6 in. Square or Rectangular

Example Removing existing rectangular structural shape 2 inch by 6 inch:
1. Click on Structural Shapes.
2. Select Existing Shapes.
3. Click on Rectangular
4. Click on down arrow in selection window.
5. Click on Rectangular Shape 2 inch by 6 inch.
6. Click on Remove Current Shape.
7. Confirm shape removal click on yes.
