Main Input Form for pdc File Essentials 



The categories for Item 3,4,8,9,10 and 11 are all changeable title fields.
The program has three standard setups for File, Music and Pictures. You can modify the title for the field as required. 
You can create new file systems designed to fit your specific application.
The drop down selection boxes allow the user to select an existing field or input new selection information.

 1. File Type Selection. (Searchable Field)
 2. Click to select File.
 3. Main Title Field. (Searchable Field) 
 4. Description Field. (Searchable Field)
 5. Program used to open file. (Searchable Field)
 6. Click to Open selected file and program.
 7. Instruction Window.
 8. Category 1 Field. (Searchable Field)
 9. Category 2 Field. (Searchable Field)
10. Category 3 Field Assign to off computer locations. (Searchable Field)
11. Category 4 Field. (Searchable Field)
12. File location .
13. Click for Help.
14. Click to Clears all fields.
15. Click to Save current file information.
16. Click to Initiate Search.
17. Click to Update the current information. 
18. Click to Open selected file and program.
19. Click to delete the current information.

Examples and Step by Step Instructions:

INPUT A NEW FILE:


1. Select the file type. (1) 
2. Click on SELECT FILE. (2)
3. When the pdc Find File box appears select the file.
4. Click on open to select the file or click the right mouse button then click on open to view the file. 
5. After viewing the file exit viewing program.
6. Click on open in pdc Find File.
7. Input all available information. (3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 11)
8. Click on FIND PROGRAM button and select the program to use to open the file. (6)
9. Click on save. (15)



FIND OR SEARCH FOR A FILE: 


Note: Search in title, description or global boxes are not case sensitive or require the complete word. Restrictive search can be preformed, see Multi Category Search.
1. Select a category in one of the dropdown selection boxes or input a word in the
text boxes.
2. Click on SEARCH. (16)
4. Select the file in the File Title drop down selection box. (3)
3. Click on OPEN FILE to view file. (18)
Note: When the file is located on a CD or disk you must input the disk or CD before clicking on open file.



GLOBAL SEARCH:


1. Input word or phrase in the global text box. 
2. Click on SEARCH. (16)
3. Select the file in the File Title drop down selection box. (3)
4. Click on OPEN FILE to view file. (18)
Note: When the file is located on a CD or disk you must input the disk or CD before clicking on open file.



SELECT PROGRAM TO OPEN OR VIEW FILE:


1. Click on the FIND PROGRAM button. (6)
2. When the pdc Find File box appears select the .exe file or shortcut to the file.
3. Click on open in pdc Find File.
Note: The .exe file is usually located under the Programs file folder or the Desk Top file folder for the shortcut for the program.



MULTI CATEGORY SEARCH:


1. Select a search category in 2 of the sub title selection boxes. ( 8, 9, 10 and 11)
2. Click on SEARCH. (16)
3. Select the file in the File Title drop down selection box. (3)
4. Click on OPEN FILE to view file. (18)
Note: When the file is located on a CD or disk you must input the disk or CD before clicking on open file.
